Prayer flag   A prayer flag is a colorful panel or rectangular cloth often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas to bless the surrounding countryside or for other purposes. Unknown in other branches of Buddhism, prayer flags are believed to have originated with Bön, which predated Buddhism in Tibet. Traditionally they are woodblock-printed with texts and images.

Hemis Festival Situated around 49 km south of Leh, the Hemis Monastery is the most important monastery belonging to the Drupka order. The history of the monastery states that it was founded by Stagsang Raspa Nawang Gyatso in 1630 (about 360 years ago). He was invited by the king of Ladakh, Sengye Namgyal who offered him a religious estate throughout the region. Also established the monasteries of Chemre, Hanle and Themisgam.

Tsomoriri Lake Tsomiri is the largest of the High Altitude Lakes to be situated entirely within India. The remote high plateau of Changthang (meaning ‘northland’) stretches from western Tibet into eastern Ladakh. It is situated at a height of 4595 m above sea level. And the maximum length of the lake is 19 km  and the maximum length of the lake is 40 m .You can visit Korzok monastery at Tsomoriri which lies on the western bank of the lake.
