Eid-e-Milad celebrated in Leh

LEH, Feb 27: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohhammad was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety, here today. Devotees participated in the night-long special prayers in mosques.

In this connection, a congregation was held at Jamia Masjid, Leh, organised by the Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam where large number of people from different areas participated.

Hafiz Ghulam Mohd Nadvi, Imam Jamia Masjid presided over the function which started with recitation of holy Quran.

In his address, Hafiz Ghulam Mohd Nadvi said the messenger of Islam (Prophet Mohammad) preached tolerance, love, and compassion that would remain the guiding principles for times to come.

He stressed to give education to all boys and girls so as to know the real meaning of Quran Sharief and teachings of Prophet Mohammad.

Religious scholars, while addressing the gathering, said that Islam’s teaching call for peace.
