PG, KAS, exams clash in J & K | Get admit cards from DC office at Polo Ground.

Srinagar, Mar 7: The dates of the forthcoming Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) mains examination scheduled to be held from March 15 onwards are clashing with several Post Graduate exams and interviews for different posts.
“The date sheet of various post graduate examinations set by University of Kashmir (KU) coincides with the KAS exam schedule. This has put students in a tight spot,” a group of students told Greater Kashmir on Sunday.
“The examination dates of MFC, MBA, MA Political Science and Sociology are same as that of the KAS. We either have to give up KAS or our post graduation exam because it is not possible for us to appear in both at the same time,” they added.
“Similarly, dates set by Public Service Commission (PSC) for interview to various 10+2 lecturer posts also clash with KAS examination. The candidates appearing for both exams will again have to choose between the two,” they said.
Pertinently, KU has scheduled the examination for private post graduation degrees in Political Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, History, Education and other private courses on March 27, 30, April 1, 4, 5, 6, 7,8 and 12 which coincides with the KAS date sheet.
Similarly, PSC has kept interview for 10+2 lecturer in Urdu on March 15 and 17 which clash with the general studies I and II papers of KAS. Also interview for 10+2 lecturers in Political Sciences are scheduled on March 22 and 27.
The candidates urged the authorities to either change the dates of KAS examination or the other ones. “It is a matter of our career. KAS opportunity doesn’t come every year so we appeal the authorities to sort out the problem.”
Talking to Greater Kashmir the PSC chairman, S L Bhat said, “The Vice-Chancellor of University of Jammu has changed the PG exam dates on our request. We now request the KU Vice-Chancellor to do the same as we can’t change the date sheet for KAS examination at this stage.”
When asked about interview dates for 10+2 Urdu lectures to be conducted by the PSC, he said, candidates have been asked to choose convenient dates for the interview.
PSC completes arrangement for KAS main exam
The Public Service Commission has made all the arrangements for the conduct of KAS Main) examination scheduled.
According to PSC official, the candidates can download their admit cards from the Commission’s website www.jkpsc.org.
The candidates belonging to Kashmir division and from Ladakh division who have opted for Srinagar centres can get their admit cards from Commissions office at Polo Ground on March 8.
The official said adding the candidates belonging to Jammu division other than Jammu district could collect admit cards from the office of their respective Deputy Commissioners on March 8.
The candidates of Jammu district and Ladakh division having opted for Jammu Centres can collect their admit cards from Commission head office at Rail Head Complex Jammu on March 8, he added.
