Leh: 10th, January, 2012 - (Visit Ladakh) - To take stock of the stocking position of Diesel (HSD) in the district and to ensure required supply of HSD to the PDD for regular power supply to the people and availability of diesel for Central Heating System of SNM Hospital, The Deputy Commissioner, Leh Mr. Tsering Angchok today held a meeting with the functionaries of Indian Oil Corporation, Power Development Department, Mechanical Deptt. and Medical Superintendent of SNM Hospital. It was revealed in the meeting that IOC has sufficient stocking of HSD for winter months. The representative of CAPD Deptt. also present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Indian Oil Corporation to keep 700 Kilo liters of HSD reserved for PDD so that the people could get regular power supply through DG sets at Choglamsar during the winter months. He also directed the CAPD Deptt. to collect remaining quota of 600 Kilo Liters of K Oil from Indian Oil Depot and ensure distribution of winter quotas of K Oil to the general public during the Jan. 2012 it self.
Aimed at to minimize the inconvenience of patients in terms of Central Heating System at SNM Hospital, the DC urged the Executive Engineer Mechanical division and the Medical Superintendent of SNM Hospital to see for a possible way out of curtailing of power during 2pm to 4pm in SNM Hospital when the sun light is enough to maintain the heat inside the hospital. Mr. Angchok said that this small amount of curtailment would not only lead to save considerable quantum of fuel and Govt. exchequer but would also help to ensure regular operation of Central Heating System of the hospital as the district is facing short of fund at present. The Executive Engineer Mech. told in the meeting that an expenditure of Rs: 1.35 lacs per day incurring on the central heating system of SNM hospital and Sub District Hospitals of Khaltsi and Nubra Deskit.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner alongwith the Engineers, Med. Superintendent of SNM Hospital and Doctors visited the SNM Hospital and personally assessed the possible curtailment of power. During his inspection to the old block of Hospital, he instructed the engineers to make proposal for macadamization and improvement of the path for Pediatric physiotherapy unit. He also sought plan proposal for creation of a modern mortuary for which Rs: 10.00 lacs is available under MP LAD scheme. He also visited Pathological Lab, labour room, Gynea ward and ENT ward and bath rooms and assessed the maintenance level. He issued on the spot direction to the Exen. Mechanical Div. to utilize the service of departmental Carpenter for rectifying the wooden works of the hospital. He also urged to rectify the loose electric wires and switch boxes of the hospital building in order to give a facelift to the hospital
During his inspection of “F Block”, Mr. Angchok took round of all the wards and interacted with the patients about the availability of medical services. He also inspected the current status of bathrooms and directed the hospital authority to fix responsibility of all their concerned officials to keep the Govt. properties in order. The DC also urged the engineers for improvement of premises of new hospital block to give a good look to the new hospital complex.
