An army jawan was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a forward area of frontier Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
The body of Bijender Singh of D-Coy, 14 JAT regiment, was recovered from a glacier in a forward area of Ladakh, a police spokesman said, adding that they were trying to ascertain the cause of death.
The body was later handed over to the army, he said.
Police have begun inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC , the spokesperson said.
