A Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) was organised between India and China at Chushul in Ladakh to celebrate the Indian Republic Day, an army spokesperson said today.
The Chinese delegation, led by Senior Colonel Fan Jun was received by the Indian delegation leader Brigadier Y K Joshi, the spokesperson said, adding that the border meetings are held six times a year, between the Indian and Chinese military delegations in the Eastern Ladakh sector.
He said the Indian national flag was hoisted and both the Chinese and Indian delegations saluted the tricolour. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual trust and both sides agreed to maintain peace in the region.
